Why I Support electHER Now

“Women's political participation is key to achieving a truly inclusive democracy.

Having more women elected broadens perspectives, increases creativity and innovation, promotes collaboration, elevates decision-making which positively impacts the level of public sector effectiveness, accountability and transparency.

As one who lived, worked and played under Thatchism when I lived in England, I still love her quote;

"If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman."

WE ACKNOWLEDGE that electHER Now virtual and in-person events are hosted on Saugeen Treaty No.45 ½ land, the Traditional Territory of the Anishinabek Nation: The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations. We give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this land.

Our meeting place is home to many Indigenous peoples, First Nations and Metis from across Turtle Island whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence our vibrant community. May we live with respect in peace and friendship with all its diverse peoples.
