participant RESOURCES

As an electHER event participant, you have access to both the resources provided to the public AND more specific resources offered here.

“How To Decide To Run” Checklist - This checklist can help you make your decision. It has been created with input from other women who have successful run and won the right to hold municipal office.

“Learn More About The Job” Info Sheet - This resource contains high-level information about the various levels of government in Ontario (federal, provincial and municipal) as well as more details about the job of Councillor, Mayor and Deputy-Mayor with links to more information.

“Getting To Know You” Tip Sheet - You will save a lot of time and effort if voters know your name before your campaign begins. The ideas shared cover a wide range of ideas, so you can find the ones that feel right for you.

“What Can I Do To Help” Info Sheet - Volunteers can be the heart of any political campaign. If you are a future candidate or someone who wants to help a candidate, this resource contains ideas of what volunteers can do.

“Creating Your Story” Worksheets - Taking the time to create your response to common questions ahead is a great way to get prepared to run (and serve). Use this resource to formulate your personal responses both now and during the days ahead (hint: it will probably change).

In the months ahead, new content will be added to this area. If you have any ideas for other resources, please let us know.

Good luck!
